U.S. President, Donald Trump, continues to be treated at the hospital after contradicting coronavirus. There is a prospect that he will be discharged this Monday, according to the indications given by the doctors who are taking care of him.
However, it was skeptical about his condition and the seriousness of Covid-19. With row reports that his oxygen levels dropped twice and doctors forced give him steroids, that early discharge rumor remains in doubt. But it was a Sunday surprise when Mr. President publicly drove past his supporters and greeted them.
The president, wearing a mask, waved to the well-wishers from behind the glass of the sealed car. This was a few moments after he posted on his Twitter account that will leave Walter Reed Hospital to pay a surprise visit to the patriots outside.
The incidence was criticized. Hakeem Jeffries, the chairman of the Democrats in the US House of Representatives, said in a tweet that more than 205,000 people have died of Covid-19 in the US and that it is time that leadership, not photo ops, was needed. Previously, it was found that Trump’s health had deteriorated after he was hospitalized for COvid-19 treatment on Friday morning.
The White House statement had said the president had mild symptoms of COVID-19, but it was confirmed later over the weekend that he was receiving supplemental oxygen after his levels dropped twice in two days. He was later treated with the steroid dexamethasone; which experts say is only given in severe cases.
According to studies, dexamethasone has been shown to increase the chances of survival for severe cases of Covid-19. While it is a steroid and like any other, it soothes inflammation and strengthens the immune system.
The steroid has been used for conditions like asthma, arthritis as well as some serious infections.
However, for the COVID-19 application, it is only useful in the severe stage and not in the early stage of infection. This implies that Trump, who was given the same steroid, had a serious infection.
However, the US president tried to project how strong he is by tweeting pictures of himself seemingly working while in the hospital and joking a video message of his surprise visit to well-wishers outside the hospital.
In a video posted on Twitter, the president, wearing a suit jacket and shirt without a tie, said he had learned a lot about coronavirus. He said he learned by going to school and that was a real school and not let’s read the book school. He added that he has and now understands and said it was a very interesting thing that he will let people know about.
The president’s COVID-19 diagnosis, which became public on Friday, has halted his campaign. The president will be yearning for re-election when he faces his main opponent Joe Biden, a Democrat, this November 3rd.
Dr. Conley, one of the medical teams looking after Mr. President, said ahead of the White House press conference that Trump’s oxygen levels fell for the first time on Friday morning. He added that the president also had a high fever. And when Dr. When asked about receiving supplemental oxygen, Conley said it was very limited.
