Former US President Barack Obama has criticized President Donald Trump on how he dealt with the current outbreak that has killed over 313,902 people worldwide.
In the US, over 1,511,295 cases and 90,198 deaths have been reported across the country.
The former president spoke to college graduates online and said the coronavirus had exposed that many officials did not even pretend to be responsible.
It was one of the unique celebrations in the face of this contagious coronavirus that has left many graduation parties and brought it to a standstill. Besides, the pandemic has not only affected or shuffled the degree but has also canceled many university graduation plans due to the economy concerned.
And while the former US President congratulated them, he criticized his predecessor a second time about how his government is responding to coronavirus.
In one of the leaked conference calls last week, he described the pandemic in the country as a chaotic disaster.
The former president gave and spoke while hosting through NBA star LeBron James, which was part of the special program that featured numerous celebrities, including Jonas Brothers, Pharrell Williams, Megan Rapinoe, and educational activist Malala Yousafzai.
And while speaking to graduates online, Obama said the COVID 19 pandemic exposed the failures of the country’s leadership.
He added that this pandemic, above all, has finally opened the curtain on the idea that so many of those responsible know what they are doing.
Mr. Obama also spoke extensively about the impact of the pandemic on black communities in the United States.
According to him, a disease like COVID-19 only exposes the existingweaknessesas well the additional problems that black citizens in this country have historically struggled with.
African Americans account for a disproportionate number of deaths and hospitalizations with coronaviruses in the USA.
During the same speech, the former president also outlined to the murder of Ahmad Arbery, adefenseless black jogger who was shot dead by two white men in February.
He said racial differences in the United States became apparent when a black man went jogging and some people felt they could stop and question and shoot him if he didn’t submit to their question.
He told the graduates that it was up to them to make the world a better place.
Mr. Obama has been relatively reticent since leaving office in January 2017 and has rarely spoken about the actions of his successor.
But the couple has been involved in several floats in the past few days, causing Mr. Trump to accuse Mr. Obama and his aides of making criminal efforts to undermine his presidency.
There is also concern about what the US President posted on Twitter last week and what is by far the biggest political crime in American history! Obama is not the only one to accuse Trump. The opposition party has also accused Mr. president over his response against COVID-19. However, the president hit back by shifting the blame to the WHO and china.
